It's definitely an improvement on the factory system. I have also replaced the front tweeters and woofers, however, and I'm now thinking the competition model may be a better match. I'd love to try the Audison option, but it appears that it doesn't play well with the MK8.5.
Awesome upgrade to the stock system in my mk8 gti. Super easy install, and noticeable difference immediately, even to someone that isn't an audiophile. Fast shipping, and the personalized letter in the box is a great touch!

Phil at RS has put out a worthy upgrade option for the lacking HK center speaker.The RS Stage 1 has far superior sound then the HK,it is crisp and clear,believe me you'll notice the difference.Another great thing is that its totally plug & play,the 3 T20 type screw holes on the Stage 1 line up perfectly to the mounting point on the dash,the plug also snaps in perfectly. As far as the install it couldn't be easier, literally took 10minutes,just pop off the plastic cover on the dash with a trim removal tool,remove the 3 screws,unplug the old HK,plug the Stage 1 in,replace the 3 screws pop the cover on,done,then enjoy your worthy upgrade,BTW, there is a YouTube video on this,believe me its that easy.
Looking forward for Phil to unveil his subwoofer upgrade that will also be plug&play.
Do yourself a favor and get the RS Stage 1,its worth it.
