Man, I’m not going to lie I was pretty optimistic on how much difference a single speaker could make…. Man was I wrong Jesus this little guy is prettt powerful! What an upgrade it projects MUCH better and the clarity is so much better! Much louder half up now feels like it’s 3/4 up volume… Doing this now makes me Realize I am
Going to have to do the Audison stage2 door speakers to match it…. Will be doing those over the winter so everything is Equal… I feel the lacking door speakers now…. But man what an upgrade! Did not disappoint spend the money you won’t regret it!

I reached out to Phil at RS Acoustics and he responded immediately. I felt like I have finally found a business I can trust. He could relate easily, was super knowledgeable and just a great experience. The speaker arrived in the U.S. from Canada in less than 24 hours! I don’t even know how that’s possible. It absolutely completes the soundstage. Everybody talks about the mid range and highs but I actually noticed it brought good bass or lower end midrange up to the front seats. I have not replaced the factory HK Subwoofer, so I noticed a healthy punch as well as improved midrange and clearer highs. It ties the system together. Thank you Phil and RS Acoustics! P.S. He might have a Subwoofer developed later this year, so I look forward to checking on that!
An outstanding upgrade for the HK system in Mk8 Golf’s. The rich and full soundscape provides new verve to an otherwise “good” stock system that fails to have any real highlights. The Audison brought vocals to the forefront without hurting the overall balance of the rest of the stock speakers. A new found punch was also present with this unit on kick heavy tracks. Crisp, clean and blends well.
I wish this speaker would have worked out for me, but having a Mk8.5, I experienced some static/popping noises that caused signal interference. So I had to swap it out. YMMV, but Mk8 owners can really relish in this outstanding upgrade that really rounds out the stock system.
Phil at RS Acoustics was an absolute gentleman to work with. Lots of patience trouble shooting along the way, responsive and communicative. You can tell he genuinely cares about his clients experiences and that’s rare. Seems steep for a speaker… but once you put it in, you’ll find it was worth every penny.
Very nice upgrade to my R. Vocals and mods have significantly more clarity and punch. Pretty ez too. Only need some plastic pry tools so you don’t damage the dash and a low profile driver to clear the windshield.
Service/Delivery was top notch. Install was an absolute breeze, everything fits perfectly, and I was done in under 20 minutes. This definitely helps the anemic speaker system in the MK8. At lower volumes it isn't as noticeable. Crank it up and... yeah... it shines.
However, this speaker alone is not sufficient to solve the anemic speaker/subwoofer system that came with the MK8. It most certainly helps and I highly recommend this speaker. With any good fortune, RS is working on a plug-and-play replacement subwoofer.
INSTALL NOTE: When pulling the grill cover, ensure you have some sort of protection on your hands. The back side is razor sharp.
